Detected a permission from the late 1790s but the catch was I had to stay in the woods. No coins but some old stuff nonetheless. The gerber still folds! Not sure what that thing is on the left… maybe the bottom of a cane? It’s god some rotting wood left on the inside.

think it is a buggy brake (brass piece on end of wood pole lever action brake for a wagon wheel), well done!
