1st - I noticed this is your very first posting - so, welcome aboard from the great state of Pennsylvania (USA).

2nd - You didn't mention your state (or country) - but you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting your state for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

yep english grey flint with (lead?) wrap on it so the jaws could hold it easier, I have used a similar setup in my flintlock guns. no way to tell age except maybe in how and where it was found.

We are from Elmira NY and this was found up on Newtown battlefield in the woods.. We use a whites dfx metal detector
