I was finally able to get out to do some head hunting yesterday. The deer plots had been tilled recently and after some much needed rain on Sunday, it was time to hit the road. Even remembered to bring the camera for the first time.

Found quite a few brokes, tips, bases, etc. Even found the little spike deer shed. I'm really surprised it has lasted this long.

Found three decent points. I was really excited at the sight of the point in the first insitu. I guess that is why the second picture is a bit blurry. Couldn't wait to take a closer look at the point once it was flipped out.

Of the three better points, I think the one on the left would be a Montgomery type. It is super thin just like a guitar pick. I have an idea what the point in the middle is but would love to hear other opinions. The base is thinned down. The third point I don't know. Could be anything. These were found in E. Central Bama.

Nice insitu. Nice finds too. Congrats.

Nice. That deer horn would make a nice knife handle.

Thanks for the comments. I was so pumped when I first glanced at the shape of the point thinking it could be my first paleo piece. Unfortunately, I would classify the point as a Camp Creek type. That with the Montgomery point would make this site a rather recent site...maybe 1000-3000BP. JMHO.

I bet your heart was pumping.... I thought it was a clovis laying in the dirt..... Good pics.... John

And a very nice first pic as well. Hard to do. I am surprised that drop horn was still around. The rodents love eating them.
Good luck and keep showing!
