I have hunted several new areas the last couple of days. Yesterday I found the usual clad along with some odds and ends, and today was about the same and I found a silver charm bracelet with a Texas Armadillo trinket on it. It was hot and the mosquitoes were vicious even though I had lots of skeeter dope on, so after about an hour I decided to bag it. On my way home I saw that there was some construction going on near a railroad depot in town. They were skimming dirt off the surface for what ever reason. I had permission to detect in this area so I decided to give it a try. In a small area I found 3 Indian head pennies, a mercury dime, a V nickel and much to my surprise I found my second silver dollar, a 1896 Morgan, which is in great shape. As I was leaving I talked with a store owner. He told me that a guy had detected the site yesterday and he had recovered a silver dollar and two Barber Halves. I don't recover a lot of silver coins, so I was grateful for my silver finds today. HH Dennis in Idaho
