I began metal detecting in September of 2011. It took me until November 2011 before I found my first silver coin and CW artifact. I spent 2 long months learning my At pro and researching places to hunt before finding anything good. Ironically my first silver was a barber quarter. (haven't found another barber quarter since)
Heres some pics of my coins

Totals are
4 IH pennies
3 v nickels
5 buffalos
3 war nickels
3 barber dimes
10 mercs
6 Rosie's
1 barber quarter
1 wash quarter
1 walking half
1 1815 half reale
1 1853 half dime
5 trade tokens
108 wheaties

Here's my best Civil War finds pictures

Thanks for looking
Happy Hunting

ted, that is quite an impressive collection you have! If you're like me, every find is is precious in it's own right and makes me wonder the circumstances surrounding the object being dropped, and what it was like at that time. Fascinating hobby isn't it?
