2014, my second year metal detecting, has been a good one for me. I had some days which were better than my whole last year, maybe more in terms of coins and relics. Last year I only found 1 button, and one musket ball, and my oldest coin was from 1904. This year I focused on colonial items, and metal detected in woods that once had some colonial activity in them, and more recently I tried some plowed fields which I got permission to hunt at which gave me more colonial artifacts. I remember finding my first colonial coin and thought that I would be the only and oldest colonial coin I would ever find, I was wrong! Anyways, here are my photos of my 2014 finds. Sorry for what seems like 1,000,000 photos.

Coinman123,

Looks like a great year of digging to me. Hopefully 2015 will be even better for you. Thanks for sharing.

Here is most of my coin roll hunting and circulation silver finds of the year, since the photo was taken I have added another $2 or so face value of silver to the pile.

A total face value of around $37 of silver coins

Around 130 silver dimes
Around 45 silver halves (36 being 90% and 32 all being walking liberties that a cashier had in her tray)
And 2 silver quarters (all teller tray finds)
And one War Nickel (not in photo)
Coinman123,

You've done very well your first 2 years of hunting. Many quality finds there!
Happy New Year! :icon_thumright:

That silver buckle piece is easily my favorite. You had a great year. Nothing better than those colonial finds
