Here is my best Standing Liberty quarter! I dug it at the top of a hill in an almost pure sand soil at about 6-7" deep. I immediately saw how nice the condition was and took special care not to rub it, even slightly. (I made that mistake a few days earlier on a pristine Barber quarter I found at the same spot)
I picked it up by the edge and blew as much of the sand and dust off as I could, then wrapped it in toilet paper and put it in my watch pocket. All I have ever done with the coin is give it a good rinse in running water and patted it dry.
I can't seem to get a totally clear pic in macro, but this will have to do for now. It is a much nicer looking coin in the hand.
