Coin roll hunting has really slowed down for me the last few years. I mostly hunt pennies and nickels, but I'll run through halves when I can get them.

Today I stopped by a bank that usually has some customer wrapped half dollars available in their vault. The teller said, "We have $130 in halves, but I'll be honest and tell you that someone already went through them. Do you still want them?"

"Sure. I'll take them anyway."

Someone had gone through them alright, and sorted all the 40% silver into separate rolls. Four solid rolls!

I also ended up with an 80% Canadian silver half as icing on the cake. This is by far my best score ever.

Maybe somebody sorted, grabbed the wrong rolls for the return.
That would suck thinking that they had a silver, but didn't.

Great score! I ALWAYS take them all, even when the tellers say they've already been gone through. Maybe $100 out of the $130 were gone through, or maybe whoever went through them only knew to pull out the 1964 and earlier.

Or maybe it's just something the tellers say dissuade you from taking them when they haven't had a chance to go through them themselves yet
