Well i have about 15-20 hours on the F75 now and hundreds on the ATP so i definately know the Garrett better....but anyway, here is how they compare...IMO! First off, the Fisher had alot of complaints about build quality. I dont see it, i was very happy with build quality. It isn't as rugged as the Pro but you benefit greatly in less weight. I can swing this thing twice as long as the Pro(with big coil). Second biggest complaint is that it was chatty....and YES, it is, but it is a very powerful, deep machine. More chatty than the ATP forsure, but also deeper, forsure! Both machines pinpoint equally well. The true all-metal mode on the F75 is my favorite thing about it, combined with its depth makes it a great relic machine. Both machines ground balance fairly easy. VDI numbers are very jumpy on the F75, even on good targets(coins, bullets, etc) Where as the ATP is much more stable on good targets. You will have a hard time telling that a target is a dime, quarter, etc. at depth with the Fisher. This may improve as i get more hours on the machine, but they are jumpy! Love the backlight in the evenings that the ATP lacks. Controls are completely personal preference, so i will only say that both are quickly learned. The Fisher completely blows the Garrett out of the water on battery life. About twice as much time on batteries! The fact of having to use Garret ATPro headphones on the ATP has always bugged me...just sayin! The only other thing that i can pick the Fisher for is that in disc mode it gives alot of high tones that are not repeatable(usually trash) that will have to be swung across a few times to verify. Very time consuming....but this comes with the power and sensitivity of the machine. The Fisher did find items in all three locations that i used it that the ATP had missed. But i honeslty figured it might find more than it did. My conclusion is that the Fisher is for the more experienced MDer with all its options of modes, tones, etc. The ATP is alittle easier to use. But i really like both and i feel that they are a great pair, both making up for the others shortcomings. Hope this info may be helpful to someone looking at one or both of these machines.

Are you saying you only get 7.5-10hrs on your ATPs batteries? I get near 40 on mine (alkalines) and a little bit less on my rechargeables.

As for the headphones, you can get the 1/4" adapter and use any headset you want. I wasn't a big fan of the stockers either so I got the adaptor and now run some Grey Ghost. Much improved!

Did the ATP not hit the targets in a comparison or just that it had gone over the area before? Coil may just not have gone over it before. What were the depths of these items?

I don't own nor have I used an F75 (yet) but is on my short list and look forward to more reviews. I've heard about it's "chattiness", can this be curbed with running the sens down (I don't know what your settings were)? Still chatty really doesn't bother me too much. The MXT Pro I had (and loved) was a Chatty Kathy too.

I avg right at 20 hrs on batteries on the ATP but dont run them much past half way down. I have 20 hours on the fisher and still full batteries! Yeah, i like my gray ghost phones! I dug several bullets between 7-8 inches deep but the ground is terrible and the ATP struggles with depth here. This is a small area about 40 yards square. I have hunted this square probably 40 hours with the ATP and dug even the iron tones. The ATP has pulled dozens of bullets, a U.S. boxplate, a bayonet and several other relics from this spot. But the other sites could have just been missed targets, however they were hunted hard with the Pro aswell....the chattyness can be "helped" with sensitivity and disc settings. And it is much less severe in fields, away from EMI sources.

Also, just to emphasize the ground of the spot mentioned above......The U.S. plate was laying flat but pretty deep....gave an iron grunt on ATP and figured it for a square nail....big surprise!

Lol! I bet!

Im guessing you dug the iron sound based on the depth of the item. If it's deep, it's old!

I agree the F75 LTD does go deeper than the AT PRO, and the batteries last longer in the F75 LTD than the AT PRO. I like both detectors, they both work good.

!5 to 20 Hr is no time at all using any metal detector. ive been using it 2 yrs . THe At pro is a good machine but not in the same class as the f75.. yes i have both also the AT gold. 2 thing you might want to try if it ever chatters change mode and or lower sen. setting. i have been to place in towns where it chattered, and went to same place the next day and it didnt ??? power lines or maybe Rf field... no detector will give you a 100% of being accruate all the time..
it wouldnt matter to me if itsshows a dime or quarter if it showed good dig it...ive hunted with other detector where it showed me and sounded as a nail ended up being a I button......use a lower setting on disc. and you will pull up rings.. mine only jump with the Id if your disc. and in a high trashy area. where its trying to kick out the bad and give a good reading one good items

I probably have close to 50 hours on the Fisher now....have tamed the chattiness completely. But still jumpy on the vdi numbers sometimes. My biggest and only complaint with F75 is that rusty iron sounds to good. The ATP will hit high on rusty iron but still has a grunt to it. Is there a secret to identifying big rusty iron on the Fisher? I do love the weight, battery life, true all metal and the raw power of the machine. Tried to hunt a very trashy (iron) homesite from the early 1800's yesterday with the fisher and after about an hour, some big iron and aggrevation, i went to the truck and got the ATP. I know it is a "better' machine than the ATP, but only once you learn it. And i just have some learning to do! By the way, 1 flat button was the only non-iron target dug with the ATP. I bought the F75 ltd to rehunt the places i have hunted with the ATP and so far it has done well finding stuff the pro missed or just couldn't hit because of depth. I just got 2 new spots, 1 of which i will probably hit tomorrow and i'm not foresure which machine i will use yet...

Looking forward to ur reviews, that was gonna be one of my decisions go back to an Atpro or grab a f75ltd.

I think you made the right decision.....had both out today and i love the Garrett but the F75 ltd just leaves it in the dust with its raw power.

Thanks I think I did to, & oh yes I'm absolutely an Atpro fan one of the firsts & still goin & will be for a long time those brought me lots of great finds & memories digging not to mention it also got my wife into detectors aswell, but me I wanted one for a while now was just my time to get one

Getting to know the machine is 99% of hunting with one.unless its real trashy i hunt in all metal mode or motion mode.then which to disc.on a target ( with a low disc setting) the deeper the item ,less its going to give you a 100 % reading as being right. with mine it will make no differance what i do with a quarter.it will alway be right. i think on some coins it will give a differant reading if the coin is standing on its edge.. how about your sound id?high ping on coin like a dime or penny or quarter? if a target is showing good with tone id and screen id .then something got to be their.. ive dug nail and pull tab and dime out of the same hole. both meter and sound was acting crazy.i havent had any trouble with iron

After around 50 or so hours, i am "learning" the Fisher and its strengths. I can id coins most of the time now and set the machine for the area i am hunting(EMI & Trsah, etc.) I believe with just a little more time the Fisher may be the machine i use most of the time. I have been very impressed with some side by side tests with it and the ATPro. It seems to pick up twice the targets in the same area as the ATPro! Found several good targets with the Fisher in a new spot but the ground was froze to solid to dig them, some of which the pro would not detect or not good enough to make me dig.

How does it do on bottle caps? One of the things I really like about the ATP is how it can id bottle caps with its tone roll.

I'd like to aswell, one of the things I was wondering, my f75ltd should be here Thursday

Not as easy to tell a bottle cap as the ATP. But i have only dug 2 with it so far...been lucky i guess. But i have been hunting older spots mainly.
