Ready or not....here it comes....my 2008 data


2008 was a pretty good year for me overall...

Ended up searching 2,006,791 coins (give or take a few) which breaks down by denomination as
1,221,242 pennies
301,529 nickels
420,335 dimes
47,749 quarters
15,196 halves
740 dollars

For the most part my searching this year was primarily limited to my weekly stops at my primary pickup banks and only a few road trips....thus the considerably lower number of half dollars searched compared to last year. Unfortunately, I lost my favorite pickup bank this year when they changed their policy on selling bags off the coin machine...

Total weight of coins searched = 13,500 lbs or 6.75 tons of coins searched through and moved by hand...
Total face value of coins searched = $89,597.62

Less tonnage and face value than last year as this year focused more heavily on pennies, nickels and dimes and less on half dollars.

V's, Buff's and a ton of War's from the nickels.

A TON of wheats... and a VDB and other good dates to boot!

You proved that quarters blow though... but that is no surprise.

Hope the next one is even better... if that's even possible!

Do you plan on sticking with the little coins? Or going back to the nice big halves?
