Well at first, when i was very young.
He retired Nov 1 1976, I was about 13. I remember the night my Dad Drove Home From Nebraska, after retiring, we had been In manvel some months, and the new house was real close to being built, He drove a old 67 Ford short bed 150, straight through non stop, from Omaha to Manvel... Hard to believe he was 10 yrs younger than I am now back then. Should a been a parade for him all the way down Croix pkwy.
He became a Jet mechanic in the Air force, later worked for NASA on T38's, the astronot's Planes, and the planes that flew the perimeter during the shuttle launches, Was Head of ALL maintenance in his second retirement.
He died recently..... Left me his Flag. A MAN with more achievements when he was 10 yrs younger than i am now that I will ever have. Heres just a few of them.
