I found this beautiful Piece of History Along with most of the skeleton of a Equus Giganteus, "Largest horse on fossil record". I donated the Partial skeleton To the Grinnelle Iowa college. I, however, kept this piece along with several others for my collection. I believe that it is a Hand held maul That I find special Because of a

snake totem Carved into the reverse. I believe that it might be bone as well.

I found it about a foot and a 1/2 to 2 feet under the sand and in a large Creek Nowhere near a field.. I pulled it out Same spot as the equus Giganteus bones I found. Definitely not plow mark's.

Maybe some type of glacial scarring. I’m not seeing it as an artifact. I can see why you noticed it though. It has a distinct appearance. I’d say a good one for the rock garden.

I'm sure you have some great photos of the the equus Giganteus that you found and donated.

I do, I would Be happy to post them. I will get them up soon, They're pretty cool. Would have been nice to have found the skull And the whole Shelton,

AMAZING FINDS :) Did you get anyone to ID the bones ?
 

Thanks, it's the bones of a "Equus Giganteus", Largest horse on fossil record, went extinct around 12,000 years. The paleintologist at the grinelle Iowa college Identified them for me Along with a few artifacts.
Small And larger statues of mammoths And a few other objects that I found with The fossils of the horse. I will post to couple Pictures of them as well.
