Google to get idea of age listed as date range of 1924-1932, per listing this is an uncommon to scarce variety of this line of shells, (12 ga shotgun shell) Hard to see name couple photos low brass head stamp.

Nice find! Any pictures?

man i curse shotgun shells every time i dig them. Im all like here comes a button.... :BangHead: are they worth collecting the older ones? I've probably tossed like 50 of the old paper ones and about 500 of the newer ones

There are guys who collect shotgun headstamps, and some are rare. Definitely worth checking before you toss them.

The Vector head stamps are older than the one I found Peters/Victor. The old paper ones are collectable I would look up on line before tossing

My record is 8 in one outing !

too late, they made me so angry they are long gone. But will reconsider my absolute ignorance and check into them more from now on.:BangHead:

I keep all mine. Probably no value but "history in the dirt"!
I have a few "Peters" as well.

Very nice headstamp

Here is link to Peters and Victor headstamps

Peters Headstamps

If you scroll down you will find your headstamp and description. Click on the thumbnail in the list to see close up.

This is what they say on what I think is yours.

[Closed leg P around primer] - PETERS No 12 REFEREE

Head and primer might be different metals with no primer cup (non-magnetic). Brass height is low with no design around the outside. The Closed Leg P is different than the one on petref12-002. 1910/1911-1927/1932 B 5 10-22-2012 This is an uncommon headstamp variety for this line. This is an accepted date range for this line, but it has not been personally verified by me.
