I got sent on a wild goose chase to find a lost ring... told it was either silver or gold, with a heart design, in an acre size lawn.
After digging 8000 holes of foil and other crap, I found a junk copper plated ring, with a bow design.
That’s it! She says.... I was more pissed that it was a junker than an actual heirloom. Oh well.

Hole #2392 this little guy pops out, really the best thing I found, as I’d never dug one before...

Help with approx age and ID would be appreciated, as I got no clue.
It’s kinda smashed, but got some punch to it, like it would hurt for sure.

Sorry for your frustration, but you made me smile with the story. Hope you get an ID on the bullet.

It might not have been made of valuable metal, but to the woman it was everything! Kudos to you for helping her!

Nice ring return! :occasion14:

Great story! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the bullet doesn’t appear to be Civil War. Not sure what period it is, but it’s definitely not a three ring mini ball.

Dave, I’ll have to agree with Fullstock. I think what you have there is a .50 or .54 caliber Thompson center maxi ball used for deer hunting

Makes perfect sense to me..... lotsa deer here.
Thanks guys.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!
