I decided to go out last night after work. I hit a park that has been yielding me a lot of silver for no apparent reason. About three minutes in (no exaggeration), I dig my first hole. I was slightly hesitant, as the signal was not as solid as I normally like. Anyway, I cut the plug and about four inches down laid this beaut. It's pretty worn, but if I can see the date I am a happy man. 2016-03-29 (1).webp2016-03-29.webp
Minnesota is not the best state for detecting, but with some work and time, we too can find some awesome stuff. Just maybe not the real old stuff.
For any other Minnesotan diggers, I suggest using this site https://www.lib.umn.edu/apps/mhapo/ in tandem with google maps.

Congratz on your first Barber and your oldest coin! You were only 1 year off from being in the 1800s club. :-\

to that! It wouldn't let me use the beer mugs for "cheers" :(
