Had a couple hours to hunt after my wife came home from work, and I decided to hit an old city park that has been absolutely pounded. It has about six inches of fill dirt on it, too, so it makes hunting it that much more challenging.
I have been hunting with an older guy that swings his coil like a sloth, and he has fantastic results! I thought I would give it a try, and it has been very good to me. I've managed several "firsts" in the last couple weeks, and I think the results have spoken for themselves.
I dug this bugger at nearly 10 inches, with 3 rusted nails in close proximity. I have been trying to be more patient in digging VERY iffy signals, and this one was no exception. There was just a squeak of non-iron as I swung over it, and I was confident it was not the result of iron falsing. I was still very surprised when I pulled the buff out after retrieving three nails! I did ding it...
Hard to see, but it's a '27. Sorry for the long post, and thanks for looking!
