Hello everyone,

So I have been swinging a coil now for almost a year. I have found many keepers. Some of value and some that fall under the relic category. I love rescuing historic relics. Like most of you, I am truly addicted to the hobby. I always like to walk out the door telling myself what I want to find. A silver coin was my goal for five months. After I found one, then came the 1800's coin. That was a high hurdle for me. When fall came I decided to venture out into the fields to have a go at it. Learning as I went along I discovered it was not as easy as some of you made it out to be by reading your post and seeing your finds. It was very discouraging with a lot of failures to be had. I plucked a lot of iron, shotgun headstamps, buckles and bent up forks. With the mild winter, I found myself coming back to the city to dig clad and some wheat's with hopes of a silver coin. As to which I did find a couple. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't finding 19th century coins. 1836 was the year it became a city here. Something had to change. I knew it wouldn't be long before the farmers would be planting crops and I had to figure something out... then Lady Luck smiled upon me.

Yesterday's finds were five IHP's 1878,1883,1884,1898,toasted - five V nickles 1887,1899, three toasted - 1 seated liberty dime 1877.
Thanks for looking.
SD

Congrats. A lot more in that field for sure. Homesite?

Wow, what a day! :occasion14:

You know just one 1800's coin would have gotten you into the club- seven at once is just showing off!

But seriously, big congrats on a major day. I'm sure you're gonna find many more.

I hope you did the Happy Dance after each of those wonderful scores. That spot seems to have a lot of activity back in the day. And folks with holes in their pockets. Gotta' love that. I'd be out there every day until the seed is in. Go get some more mate. :icon_salut:

Congrats on making the 1800's club and a Great hunt!!
Five v-nickels on one hunt has to be some kind of record too...

Awesome finds!, congrats on all those goods

You not only joined the 1800's club, you became president with that many 1800 finds in an outing. :headbang:

Oh so killer Dave!

A whole hand full of old coins... including a seated. Wow. You hit the 1800s club alright, you knocked it off of it's foundation.

Congratulations sir and best of luck to you on your future hunts.

Welcome to the 1800's club.
You are definitely a member in good standing.
Congratulations on an excellent hunt.

Good God almighty! That's insane. 5 V's and a seated to boot is amazing. If those were dug in that field you have a lot more coming your way. It would take months to cover that, and when it's turned over months to do it again.

Congrats on a sweet day out swinging! :occasion14:
Awesome finds there! Keep at that place for sure.

Awesome hunt
