To bad its only pennies. :( I went to an old park today.I had a sweet signal, but it was alittle wider than a normal coin, so i dug, and low and behold, a penny cache. There was 91 pennies there. I didnt see any wheats in there, but i only started cleaning them up, lol I also found a cub scouts bearcat pin and some sort of handle. Maybe you can help id it. The inside has NE stamped on it. Thanks Greg

digging all them pennies in one spot not bad :icon_thumleft: neat do dad.. MR TUFF

91 pennies !!! in one whole! strange, but coool!
id like to know what that thing is that has the slots in it? any ideas?

Wow!! I don't care what 'face value' those coins have - that is an awesome cache find :headbang:
and I'm voting BANNER !

The things with the slots are the guts of a harp/harmonica.

The handle thing looks very interesting too. It reminds me of a 'camping style' knife, fork and spoon set where they are held together, via the pin thingy, but are able to be separated for use.
Some more pics and more info on how it is made (hollow/solid) what sort of metal, etc. will all help ID it.

Cheers, Mike

Thanks for the replies. I just wish it would have been all silver dimes!!!

Not bad at all! There might have been a whole dollar in there! Happy Hunting!!

gratz on the cache and hunting is still good no matter what you find. :hello2:

It's a Harmonica Reed Plate ...

Congrats on the Cache ~ Al

Any time you find a cache, it's a good find. Keep hitting that area, you never know.

Was just ready to answer this question with same answer...

those coin caches like that will drive you crazy with the signal....wtg...really like that pin and the handle...i can't find anything with the lettering in my db.

yea, my detector went crazy, now i just need to get myself a handheld pin pointer!!! Was tired after waving the detector over the hole about 40 times, lol

Nice find!!

Congrats on the penny bunch Greg!! If you are considering a pinpointer, take a look at the Garrett Pro-pointer. I got mine two weeks ago and I am really thrilled with it!
