thank you so much for the quick response. I work afternoon shift and I found this thing this morning my hunting buddy works daylight. and I wanted a date to rub it in his face that I was out finding this while he was working. but it backfired now I have to take him to my new spot this weekend.

so did the Colonials really use these as coinage? I see a lot of them get dug around the old sites. were they curiosities or a medium of exchange in the colonies?
