Congrats, Donny. What part of the country are you in?

Nice find bud! It MAY be a more modern black powder bullet BUT its hard to say as the picture is alittle blurry (sometimes its hard to get those cameras focused in without the MACRO setting) Good job my friend!

Look's like one to me.....Can you please tell me if there's a hole in the top, kinda look's like a pulled to me.Nice find

From the picture it looks like the tank off a cement truck sitting upright in front of your garage door. Lol. Just kidding. Looks good to me but I'm no expert on bullets.

I know this is going to make me unpopular but I don't think this is civil war era. I have found a couple of bullets like this but in my area of the US, civil war era bullets have a white or brown coating to it.

It still is a good find, and keep pounding the ground, who knows you just might find that rare buckle or button!

Well, that's a telltale sign too....But the big PINK ELEPHANT so to speak...is the spacing between the rings. Post Civil War up through modern black powder guns shoot bullets VERY similar looking to 3 ringers HOWEVER they look as this one does above, with very wide gaps between the rings. In addition, Civil made another observation about how it looked "pulled". These black powder bullets often times have flattened noses as this one does. Its still a VERY COOL FIND either way bud please don't get discouraged if its not Civil War as there are still many of them out there to be found and I think this one is a pretty bullet either way

What is the dia. of the bullet and the length.I have found some CW bullets with this color on it,if the bullet was found in a wet area it will look something like that. But a more clear pic with a coin or a ruler with it we could do a better job on ID'ing it.Also what does the bottom of the bullet look like. But however if you look at a M&M 323 bullet in the Mckee and Mason bullet book it looks like that. Some CW bullets did have a flat nose without being pulled. So unless we see a better pic of the bullet and the bottom it is hard to say.It could very well be a CW bullet. But no matter what nice find.

Ill try to get a better picture but the bullet is just a little over a inch long and weighs about 35 grams. I dont have any calipers to measure the diameter but its just barely fits in a 9/16 wrench if that can tell you maybe how close to diameter is.By the way i am in Missouri. Thanks to all for your replies......donny
