Yeah Sentienel, I have also seen these before. My buddy dug one in Resaca that was very similiar.
 

Since the bullet is approx. 58 cal. I also would say modern bullet.I looked in the McKEE & MASON book and that is why I wanted to know the size.Because the only one that really looked like it was a .69 cal.Because all of the CW 58 cal the rings are a lot closer.So I will also say modern.My cuz has a replica 58 pression cap rifle and the bullets that he makes and shoots in it looks just like that one.But any way nice find.

It does look modern and I hope you find that first CW bullet. As for your 2 cent piece, in 1864 they had two types, large and small motto, the small motto 1864 is a semi key date coin.
