My first detector. Minelab eureka or garrets ls infinium

Hi all ..am looking at starting the hobby and in all honesty I'm confused as to what to buy..my budget is from 1000 to 1700..looking for a gold detector..nuggets etc..and as I now live in central Australia I'm guessing the soil is highly mineralised...when I'm next in the city in a few weeks time ill buy the detector then..can you please advise as to which one you would consider..

What is a used Minelab SD 2200 or GP 3000 selling for in Australia Nick? I like the Eureka, and the Infinium will work, but it can't match a Minelab pulse induction unit. Good Luck!

I've looked around and a used minelab goes for $2500..I have also found a detector called whites tdi pro oz series..

Eureka is a good VLF option... if you can swing a few extra bucks.. go with a GP3000 etc..

Are you serious about this? Then I agree with Terry. If you can do it get the used Minelab SD or better yet a GP. Be worth saving up a little longer and shop around a little longer to get a good deal one one.
