My first expirience with halves

My dad ordered me a bag ($1000) of halves for christmas, and i just got finished searching it. What a bummer!!! 2000 halves and only 2 nifc! 2003D and 2005P. Not even a single silver!!! we exchanged it for another bag, so i guess ill see how this one goes... i think my hopes were set too high. oh well.

Keep in mind that 3+ per box ($500) average in the Long Run is a great average, 4-5 would be outstanding. Most people here only post there good or great scores, so it looks like people are scoring left and right.

Only a couple handfuls of us actually post all our finds , skunks and all.

These are my averages, I have been doing this for a month now.

624 rolls of dimes - 12 ( 1:52 )
286 rolls of Quarters - 2 ( 1:143 )
291 rolls of Halves - 42/40% 0/90% (1:7 / 0:291)

Halves are skewed because of CWR's. I did manage sixteen 40% out of $100 of String Rolls though, the first $100 of halves that I had ever searched. Having issues getting that bank to order more lol.

I am new to looking for silver in Halves.
I have a stupid question. What do you do when the bank doesn't have halves I have check all of them where do you get boxes and bags?? do they cost more than face value?

When a bank doesnt have any halves near me, my backup is dimes and then quarters. Since no one here has any halves and I only have 1 bank willing to purchase for me, I have no other choice but to search dimes and quarters. I like a good mix to my silver so I dont mind.
