The snow is still deep in the woods here in Connecticut. So cellar hole hunting has been quite the challenge, however HeavyMetalNut and I managed to find one cellar hole that didn't have "as" much snow. After not having much luck, we decided to go to a town green. I found a decent Indian and the GOLD Lion pin. This little guy is heavy....Colonial cellar hole hunting is what I"m into, but the town green helped take the sting away.

Good detail on the lion pin...cool finds for snow deep items.

I bet some of those Celler's are already cleaned out , I have read that in the old day's they did not leave much behind when they left or moved .
But there is always stuff that was dropped that no one saw . I be you do find some strange things in those spots .

Dang, that little lion pin is an outstanding find.. you don't see much gold come from cellar holes but that one is nice. It looks like its at least victorian era, if not older. :headbang: let me guess, it's not marked right? cool spoon bowl tooNice to see your season is about to get underway :hello2:

love the king of the jungle pin!!!!!!!!!!! :headbang:

Hope you are thawed out soon, you guys are still doing great in the snow :hello2:

Snow will be gone soon and you will be tearing it up. Nice finds. Just once I would like to find one of those pewter spoons complete.
