I might just wash the dirt off, but thats as far as I would go.

Thanks, not much experience with the minies.

Does the triangle shaped bottom of the one three ringer have any meaning?

Thank you for the reference. That with out a doubt clarifies that three ringer.

Congrats Brad-you never forget the first 3 ringer. I still get excited digging one after finding between 2,000-3,000 CW bullets. As Old River said, you can wash them under water. I use an old soft bristle toothbrush to get the dirt from between the rings. Do so gently. I use the clip part of an old plastic pen to clean the cavity.
I have found only one French Triangle bullet in 15 years of CW relic hunting. They are purely CS used and relic dealers sell them fot $25 in dropped condition. I hope you dig many more CW bullets. WTG and HH, Quindy.

that triangle based was rare until some guy in georgia found a well full of them. I have only found one myself and it was in my yard which was used as a retreating defense.
Nice finds. Love the bullets first sign you are in the right area.

congrats on your first bullets. The first one in the top pic looks like it might be a CS teat base.

The 3-ringers are always a fun find. Congrats and good luck on many more!

I was thinking the same thing.

A very soft tooth brush and water won't hurt them. Purdy !!

Sure does!

Congrats, that's an experience you will never forget. The more you find the more you want to dig more.

Congrats on a great find. There is something about CW relics that gets in your blood. I get excited on every find. What state did you find them in?

Virginia.

Great finds, once I found my first 3 ringer I was hooked. Its amazing to touch something knowing the last time it was touched was by a CW soldier.

You want those three ringers to keep their white coloring/patina. That is one way you know you have old lead.

Just brush them lightly and rinse with water and you should be good to go.

Congrats

Nice Finds... I am still looking for my first and hope to get it this year.
