My First Half Dollar !!

Hello all,

I was hunting a Friends House. I did not expect to find much since he has had metal detectors in his life and around that house for 30 years. So I was searching around and found My First Half Dollar!! Its not silver #@$! $#@! @$#!! That's cool, 8) I am happy I dug my first Half Dollar, Silver or not!! I think it's likely one he gave to his Five (5) year old son and he lost it. I also found a wheat penny !!

Great job. I got my first today as well and mine was a franklin. To be honest, I would have been happy with a JFK too, I just wanted to dig a larger coin out of the ground. Glad you found what they missed! HH

congrats man! I have hit 3 halves in 17 yrs.. all 3 silver though,,,,, '20 and '37 Walking Liberty..... '51 Franklin..... the last 2 were this yrs hits..... halves are becoming more plentiful on here it seems..... I have never dug a Kennedy or and Ike dollar yet.. both of those are on my list....... congrats man!

I found about twenty halves before I came across a clad Kennedy; talk about disappointing! Congrats on that first half; may the next one be a Franklin, Walker or even a Barber!

It's a good feeling, isn't it?

I remember finding my first Kennedy half in a school yard. It's only worth 50 cents, but I still can't seem to bring myself to cash it in because it was my first one.
