Found on my second trip to a turn of the century home site. There are no structures left standing here but there is evidence and one really big old live oak, which after three times around I got the signal about six inches down right at the base. I was pumped when I could tell it wasn't something still in mint, it wasn't till later I was able to read the date. :headbang: Say there is an old cellar filled with stone rubble anybody think it's worth excavating ?

Congrats on your first IH........ HH

Very nice find! Third time around the tree!
Makes me wonder if I have missed one because I still haven't found an IH.

congrats on the Indian, I love those coins :icon_thumleft:

Greetings and congrats :hello:
Love those old Small Cents

I went back to a trail lis weekend that I found several Indians on last week. I found 2 that I missed. As far as old foundation . I would not go as far as excavating it . however agood couple of hrs near by tree or old clothsline mybe were a picnic table sat would not hurt JMHO. Nice Indian :icon_thumright: :coffee2:rob

I have been detecting for several years and only managed 11 of them. This year I have found 4 in one yard. Keep at it...they will come. It's all location and how hard it has been detected before. Even considering that, everyone misses some coins.

That green spot on the back wouldn't be disquising an "S", would it?????? Makes it worth a few bucks even corroded.

Very nice condition IH. I recently found my first also dated 1880, really worn out by the time buried, but the year is still legible. Concerning your question above, your MD will give you the answer. I'd say give it a shot and if it beeps, go for it! :icon_thumright: Now excavating it, I don't know.
