My sis has quite a large collection of old sprinklers. One has a patent date of 1895. Let's see your find. It's all good.
 

The cheapo will still beepo. The first is certainly not the last. Some people can't find their bottms with both hands, little lone a 80+ yr old anything buried in the yard. Congrats, I envy the thrill of the first find of anything unknown only a few minutes before.
