This wont seem so great to all of you but im exstatic about it.....

So i went to the bank to ask about ordering my first ever box of halves (first time i've ever had $500 i could use on my own). The manager there proceeds to tell me that if i come in Tues or Wed the manager for this particular branch will be in and id have to wait for that person to order em. She told me they would be in by thursday if i do.....i thought well....thats not bad....seems pretty fast to......

Then she tells me they have 72.50 in halves on them.....I frantically start searching my wallet and pocket to see what i have on me. I ended up finding $70 dollars on me so i took $70 in halves......

Now every time i bought some halves up to this dates it has been either $300 in someones drops.......or just some pure clad rolls.........This time was different.....

Of course i started searching by the time i reached the car....... ;D

Total finds.....3 40%'s
67,67,69D

Not the greatest finds in all the world......but surely not a skunk for $70......now is the best idea to clean them up.....or just hold them for bullion value?

WTG Alpha. I'm ecstatic for you buddy!! You have to start somewhere and three is a good start. As for cleaning them.....I would hang on to them just as they are.

My very first time I searched for halves was at a CU....the teller told me all they had what what she had in her tray which as about $7 worth if I remember correctly, but it wasn't much....pulled a 69-D from those......that was my very first silver coin.....the point is....you have to get one before you can get the 2nd one and so on......

Keep plugging and the stash will grow.............keep us posted on that box you get......fingers crossed for ya!

Right on! Keep em coming.

I'm hoping to......wifes getting ticked that im planning on buying a box.....

I told her hunny....money is money =P

Remind her.....you get it all back....less the silver keepers. Can't lose!! That's the beauty of this hobby.

When I started I was poor- I ordered boxes to coincide with payday sos I could search my money before paying bills with it. HH Mark

Three keepers is not too shabby at all for the number of coins you searched! Good job!!

Congrats Alpha that is 3 keepers to add to or start your stash ... we all had to start somewhere ... as far as spending $$$ crhing all you are doing is flipping cash or as I call it playing free lottery tickets .... as far as cleaning them it is a good idea not to even try to unless u really know what u are doing ... some people have found some nice coins and bunked the value of them big time by cleaning ... anyways kudos on your score  , Ed

I do that now.
Great minds think alike. HH Mark

Those three finds would equate to finding about 21+ in a $500 box. I would say you did VERY well with your 70 bucks worth. Congrats!
