Nice musket ball and nice patina on it....that patina shows how old it is. I remember when i detected my first musket ball in Virginia back in 1972 with my old Whites BFO detector.

I remember my first about 20 years ago, a real thrill, now they are a daily hunt find, but still its an oldie

That first one still has the molding sprue,nice!I have dug hundreds of em,but still love them.You can tell a lot about what you might be into by them too,camps,ball pouch dropped....could be a mold near?Many things!Many more to ya!!

Yeah, you guys seem to get more moulds, they rarely turn up here

Really?Thats odd.I have been fortunate to have dug several and all of my buddies as well.Seems crazy to lose such an essential piece of equipment!
