I thought that was 'Lays'?
 

Nice musket ball and nice patina on it....that patina shows how old it is. I remember when i detected my first musket ball in Virginia back in 1972 with my old Whites BFO detector.
 

I remember my first about 20 years ago, a real thrill, now they are a daily hunt find, but still its an oldie :icon_thumright:
 

That first one still has the molding sprue,nice!I have dug hundreds of em,but still love them.You can tell a lot about what you might be into by them too,camps,ball pouch dropped....could be a mold near?Many things!Many more to ya!!

Yeah, you guys seem to get more moulds, they rarely turn up here :icon_scratch:

Really?Thats odd.I have been fortunate to have dug several and all of my buddies as well.Seems crazy to lose such an essential piece of equipment!
