i found the one cent under a root....it was my first and it was exciting to find it......the eagle "button" isn't a button and i'm not sure what it is....it has 4 clips on it....the buckle i don't think is all that old......

That is the same first Large Copper I found too! Yours is in very good shape, nice find!
 
I don't know for sure, but I think that is a cap for a bottle? Just my guess/stab in the dark?

I agree. It looks like a general issue CW eagle button that was repurposed. Congrats on your 1st LC!
