I found this "Penny" at the beach. Appears to be gold plated, and by the weight it is not gold or silver. It has some pocket wear on the face of it and is about 1oz, with ribbed edges. It is slightly larger and slightly thicker than a silver dollar. It seems like a strange souvenir, and I could not find anything like it on the internet. I am sure it is not valuable, but I just haven't seen anything like this before. You ever found anything like this before?

Don't know what it is, other than cool. Nice find Ralph :icon_thumright:

Look up "Jumbo Penny" on eBay. That might be it. Cool find though.

Yeah, he looks toothless.

That is very unusual. Never saw one like it. Congrats on the find.

Really cool find . Bet you were stunned for a moment.

When you find more info on the big "Lincoln cent"
I hope you will post an update. A very unusual find..
Congratulations I think?! LOL Gold Nuggets :hello:

Thanks for ya'als input. The closest I came to finding a match is a "jumbo penny", at: http://www.steelcitycopper.com/store/page20.html Although these jumbo coins are not gold plated, mine is the same size and weight. LOL, it does look like Abe has no teeth, or has snuff in his lip. HH to ya'al. Ralph

Interesting find, Petersra...I like that one

When I was in Afghanistan some of the vendors in the bazar sold oversized pennies that were almost identical oversized reproductions of out one cents pieces. I remember seeing them and I never bought one but I don't remember exactly what size they were.
