Got out this morning,
First couple of hours of hunt very frustrating, only a 1920's something buffalo. It was time to leave, but I stayed a little longer. Wandered to an area where I found my 1865 and 85 IH's, almost no signals. Then hit a 1911 Wheat penny, which I thought and hoped would be an IH. Just about to leave when I got a signal that sounded more penny than dime but was solid and about 7 inches deep. Dug it, and after scrounging in the hole saw a dime laying flat ... I knew it was going to be good. Took a few moments to figure out what I had. Then I walked around in shock for about 10 minutes. It was hard to see the date, but easy to see it was a cc. Condition is pretty good, probably between F-12 and VG-8, but partially blackened and hence hard to see the date. As the shock subsided, I made a few phone calls. My first seated, and it is a good one!!! I am one happy camper.
