Snapshot_20140922_10.webpSnapshot_20140922_5.webpSo I gained permission at a church that I tracked back to the 1870's as being a school/church.The second hole I dig out pops an1818 lc,needless to say I was pleased.after some wheats, some clad,a buff and very little trash my 505 went off with a 10/25cent signal at 6inches,cut a plug and down about 6-7 inches there she was,a 1929 slq winkin at me,found a few more wheats before pulling out.been kinda dry and didn't wanna work the ground to hard.went home for a break and searched my back yard where that cut lc was found atleast I found the dated part,1817.ended my sunday at a friends house in a town est.in 1706,found a lot of trash before ending up with 4 wheats and a crusty 1906 ih only my third this year.sorry bout the picture quality I'm not good with computers.i wish everyone a successful hunt and thanks for lookin.

Congrats of your first Slq!! Nice finds too! I would definitely be going back to that school/church and looking for more goodies!! Glhh!

Congrats! nice finds, HH!

My first standing liberty I almost didn't dig.
I had just stepped out of my car at a group of old home sites in the woods. I turned on my detector and lowered it to the ground to "ground balance" and it started going off with the ID jumping all over the screen. Tried again with the same results. Almost decided to move the coil and try again but decided instead to cut a plug. Just two inches down was a 1918-S quarter in good 4 condition. Date is too worn to determine if it's the rare 18/17 overdate.

Congrats on your first SLQ! The best looking coin ever minted, IMHO. Any chance of getting a close up? Hope you find many more!
