Well I didn't get 23 silvers today LOL but I did hit the Pomander site for a good four hours tonight after work. Been hitting hit 3-4 times a week lately actually. Finally got what I knew had to be there. SPANISH SILVER. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it appears some poor fellow dropped his cut Spanish silver he had just gotten in change. Exactly 3 grams worth. Too bad for him but good for me

Some flat buttons and a 64 Rosie joined the party tonight too.

I'm no expert but it sure looks like the real deal to me! Congrats on your first spanish sliver! I'm still hunting for mine. Keep it up, that's a great site you have there.

Congrats on ur pirate booty!!! Great find

Looks like a clipped cob.....you have one helluva site there brother! Fantastic find!

EDIT: I think I actually went a little too early myself, I found a no date 1 real with similar markings but was attributed to Philip III. However I found a better example with the 3 fleurs de lis design on a more "modern" Philip V 1 real (Philip V reigned first from 1700-1724 then abdicated in favor of his son, Louis I, but after Louis died in the same year 1724, so Philip V took over again until his death in 1746. The rest of my post is still accurate I think, Mexico City Mint, 1 real (maybe a clipped 4).

Here's a lot of three Mexico City 4 reales that sold a few years ago, check the top right coin to compare with yours.

Wow!, you killed the 1700s and almost blew right past the 1600s!, great find, incredible!!

Ill trade you 23 silvers for your 1 COB?
Awesome find Toasted.

So if this is a 1 reale cob than it's never been clipped except maybe at the mint to reach proper weight

Sweet cob. Get a few experts to chime in for info on the cobs forum. Congrats -

Steve

Congrats on the Spainish silver!!

Awesome find Toasted :notworthy: It's going to be hard to beat that one.

NICE COINS TOASTED.

That's where I left those :laughing7:

Killer cob buddy. Love Spanish silver

A Spanish one real cob! Good job on the cob!

The 8R coin after 1728 weighed 27.0642 grams; or 3.38 per real.
Yours, at 3.0 grams is right in line for a 1R with extensive wear.
Don....

Awesome find Toasted.

I'm guessing you don't have any cobs with an offer like that
