My first token

I found this metal detecting in Litchfield, Ne where an old school had once stood.
It is aluminum about the size of an nickel, the front says Gifford & Young General Merchants the back Good for 5c in trade. Through my research I am pretty sure it is from Hitchcock, SD

Nice trade token! I see in the older copy of Miedema's SD Book that there are general merchandise tokens known from H. I. Gifford's stores in Hitchcock, SD - how did you get the tie-in with Young?

I found a 1909 listing for businesses in Hitchcock, SD. It had a listing for Gifford & Young General Merchants, I sent this info to Miedema It should be in his next book.
