My house is located at the site of one of the first towns settled during the CA gold rush eight miles from Sutter's Mill.
The stream actually does flow through my front yard.

Thanks for all the positives. I feel blessed to live here, this state may have it's political and financial problems but I tend to ignore them living in my own world here in the canyon. Plenty of fish and game from bear and salmon and everything in between.
I have found a few artifacts, nothing of value. In addition to being located on a historic townsite the property is adjoined by over 5000 acres of BLM land and a large number of gold rush era hard rock mines. Here's another view of the creek downstream from the beaver pond in the first shot.

Yep, lots of pretty country in N California. A lot of people think it's all like LA. Kinda like New York State is all like NYCity. Are you upstream or downstream from Sutters?
