Went over to a cabin of some friends to do a little diggin. The cabin dates back to the 40's so I thought it might be worth a try. Result....one 1980 penny, and a hand calculator battery. I cannot beleive how many holes turned up nothing even though there were solid hit. Actually found that some small rocks were giving off hits.

Well....a start anyway.

That's where it starts! :icon_thumleft:

I'm not sure if you have one or not, but a pin-pointer probe helps so much. I detected most of my first year without one and it makes it so much easier. good luck out there, and look forward to seeing your posts.

Went to a county park near Luzerne, asked permission to hunt, and was told as long as I didn't leave open holes I was welcome to hunt. 90 minutes of hunting resulted in 2 quarters and 5 pennies....all clad, but I'm getting the hang of it. I took the advice and purchased a propointer.......what a difference it makes!

My next post will be when I hit silver or something other than clad.....hopefully it will be soon.

excellent....glad you got out and scored some coins. I love the old stuff, so I'm always looking for old places to hunt and trying to find the deep stuff. The pro-pointer is the best pinpointer out there I think and makes a huge difference, glad you got one of those. good luck out there, looking forward to seeing some of your finds.

Keep diggin!!
