Got most of these from the Manville N.J. Bottle Show, except for the labeled Schwarz Old Family Port, it came as a house warming gift for my new place. It looks great in the middle of my XXX and XXXX Old Family Rye variants. Most of the ink stamp jugs will be sold to other Paterson collectors, except for the two I need...

I know I've asked what your favourites were before, but now my question is, what else do you still need? What percentage of Paterson glass and pottery do you think you've discovered so far? Is there some seemingly unattainable holy grail out there? Is there a bottle or jug you've only heard rumors of, or only saw in books, and can't seem to acquire?

I'd say I have about 85% of the known bottles and stoneware. The Holy Grail would be the rectangular slugplate Archdeacon's soda/mineral water bottle, this fragment is the only one actually documented and we believe it dates to 1847 when he first went into business. The second pic is the 1850 variant in my collection...

Wow, 85% is an impressive accomplishment, especially for a place with so many individual pieces. That Archdeacon fragment is a tantalizing little bit. The only known shard! I bet that little shard just sits there and stares at you all day. I'm sure you'll come across a complete one though, it's in your destiny.

archdeacon's soda , did you find the shard ? unknown but the slug plate ..there must be one somewhere or at least HOPE there is..you would have to locate and dig every old privy and check every attic and basement in paterson and every town around it.....and still wouldn't find one..

My mentor dug the shard, only piece of one found in over 50 years of digging in and around Paterson. I was contacted by a young man who said an oldtimer in PA said he had one in his collection, but he won't show it to the kid or even return his phone calls to get a pic, so I am assuming he has the same 1850 variant I have and not the rectangular slugplate as seen in the fragment. If he does I hope he decides to share a pic one day, and I pray he doesn't pass away and have his family toss his collection in the recycling bin, that would be a crime...

are you running out of room yet?

Very,Very nice !!! Love all those jugs !!!
