This last Saturday my daughter had a sorority luncheon and meeting in San Diego a 240 mile round trip. I decided to be a good daddy and drive her. She was not able to get a ride, most of the girls wanted to stay a few nights and Heather didn't want to spend the money. (my money, good girl)

I did my research the night before and none of the towns on craigslist matched those on the map. One address said San Diego but it was over 20 miles north. That town is so confusing. So I decided to wing it and look for signs. I tried to find a residential area and only saw one sign. So I only hit one YS and nothing special.

So yesterday, on Sunday, I decided to go to a real swapmeet. I only go there when I have to get a yardsale fix. Lots of junk. But i still look for my normal YS items. It started out pretty good. Within the first 30 minutes I spent $60 on silver jewelry. These swap meet folks do know the value of silver (more than they know english) so the were a tough buy. I also bought a lot of cell phones. I pay $1 for 3. A lot of vendors laugh when I make my offer and others start hunting for all they have. On one transaction this guy had 12 so I paid my $4 about an hour later another seller had a nice sterling heart on a chain. I offered $5 he wanted $8. That was too much for me so I offered him some of my phones. He declined so I moved on. Two booths down someone was selling cell phones and I offered him those 12 phones for $10 and he quickly pulled out a ten. I went back and paid the $8 for the chain and heart.

All in all is was an OK day, I came home with $140 worth of silver and 8 cell phones and spent a total of $74
