I did not find a lot of frame quality relics in 2023 but I did manage to knock three off my bucket list. Top one is a Native American egg stone found while detecting.
On the left is what I first thought was a CS clipped corner buckle, but I was corrected by a very knowledgeable member who let me know it was a Model 1808 US Militia shoulder belt plate 1812-1830. Lastly, the button n the right is a Republican Blues civil war coat size Also pulled 6 more CW buttons from the same site, 1 New York Staff cuff, 3 Artillery, two coats and a cuff, 1.An Infantry overcoat size and a coat size Dragoon. an 1838seated dime came from the dirt as well as an 1821 capped bust dime,1 reale in poor shape. a shield nickle and an Indian Head penny finished out my dirt fishing for the year.
My best silver finds came from the local Coin Star machine; six silvers including a 1919 quarter, two more silver quarter and three silver dimes.
