My cheap glass coffee table got broken a while back when someone sat on the edge and shattered the glass… finally got around to making a new one

The base is from the broken table, the wood is base trim from a house that was being torn down, the glass was going to be thrown out while someone was cleaning an attic and the artifacts are personal finds, and the rest I had around the house.

I still need to get the finish blended but I’m pretty happy for now, been looking for a better way to display my pottery, so two birds

I like the idea of repurposing wood. A little stain of the right color will help blend those raw edges. A friend gave me an older piece of glass (40" X 40") last Wednesday night that is suitable for a similar project. It has rounded corners and a tri-beveled edge that is green tinted.

That's very nice!

I like the re-purposing of materials and love the fact you left the wood with it's age showing with all the dings and dents, Your collection is nice.

The next person to break through the glass is gonna get an arrow point in the bum! Nice!

Thanks all, yep a little stain for the raw edges and a little formbys to smooth down the alligatored finish and maybe pull some over the raw faces and it will be done. I like it showing the dings and all that too
Here’s another project I did out of reclaimed wood from that same house
