I rushed through work again today, wanting to get home & post todays finds,
was hoping they would clean up well.
Some OK, & some not so good.
Anyway, an 1853 Seated Dime, took a little research to get the last number of date,
can only read 185.. turns out they changed the weight in 1853, and put arrows before & after the date, and I got an arrow!
A toasted 2 Center, bet it's somewhere between 1864 & 73 :laughing9:
I've read about 2 others found today, ???
1 Piece Rifle Corps Button, Love It !! My 2nd from this site.
15mm Convex Eagle Artillery, cruddy, but I can see it all,
you get to see a wing anyway:laughing7:
a Cool Toy Cannon Wheel.
Also got a plain flat button, an old blistered cast pewter button, & a .62 ball.
I'm just beginning to understand my Etracs language, it speaks a different dialect from the old Safari.
Great digs to all ! Thanks for looking

Great finds there Herbie, love the Toy Cannon Wheel! :notworthy:

One of my first finds was a seated dime from 1882. I wasn't experienced enough at the time to appreciate it the way that I do now. Very nice coin that you have found. Good job.

Our upstate NY acid rain was so bad through the years that it killed off all the trout in the pristine Adirondack lakes, streams, ponds and rivers. And it killed most chances of pulling out a decent copper (not to mention a decent brookie). They used to dump quicklime into the lakes by the ton to bring up the pH. My silver rarely comes out with much more than some interesting toning. Your coins are in another level of caustic waste. Nice finds though. Thank god for the epa and the clean air act.

Congrats, that Seated would come clean with a light electrolysis treatment :icon_thumleft:

Thanks for all your replies! Ive dug a lot of old copper, several old rings, Buttons back to a nice Dandy, Lots of early Military, & One little Gold, but silver seems to elude me, 3 US silvers prior to 1904, & 6 more recent, in my 8 month career as an MDer.
I certainly Have no complaints about my Finds, on the contrary, I am VERY fortunate!
Spanish Silver? Maybe soon, got permission to seach these new sites, owner says his grandmother told him the foundation was a shoemakers shop, & never searched. the other structure is a well dug into the side of a steep hill.
Did quick scans on both, seems like iron, and deep leaf litter are obscuring good signals. this type of searcking is MUCH more difficult than mudflatting.
Good Day & HH
