My oldest nickel to date and first shield nickel

Made this find on a last minute hunt I started not to make due to cutting my knee open fairly bad this morning. After super gluing it I decided to make a hunt for an hour or so. As luck would have it shortly after starting the hunt my knee bust back open again. I almost called it quits when the blood started pouring onto my boot. I held out and was I glad I did. I detected my first shield nickel and as it would turn out it was an 1867 w/rays. That's my oldest coin I've detected... I think. My 2nd coin for this field and surprisingly they have both been nickels. Awesome I found my first shield nickel a couple weeks ago it was a 1867 too but no rays.



I hope to find a v nickel in this area too found a buff about 50 yards from the shield.

There has been a few buffaloes found in the same field too along with 1800's silver I just haven't found any silver yet but I'm sure it will come. Hope you get your V nickel soon my friend. Good luck and HH

Thanks I did find a 1893 barber dime in this field in spring. No silvers since but a lot of Indian head cents. I have to get the 5 by 8 coil for my pro. Lots of iron in there. Good luck to you to and hope you find more and get that silver.

1867 is my oldest also !! Wish they came out of the ground looking better mine looks about the same lol nice find!
