Met up with HighVDI, MetalHeadz and Steve-in-PA this morning at a cellar hole that has been productive.

My first target of the morning, around 7:15 am sun just peaking over the horizon, was my best signal. I was in an iron patch maybe only 10’ x 30’ adjacent to the cellar that I have been pulling keepers out of over the last few hunts. Keeping sensitivity at 15 (about half) has really got me liking the Nox. Perfect 26-28, 4 way signal, really tight and about 5” deep. Pulled the plug, see the silver dime edge in a clump, run over to the guys to share with the unveiling. Turned out nice.

Here is the handful.

The watch winder was a cool relic to pop out, but the ring still has me intrigued. It is very ornate, has colored stones in it, but it is gold plated over what looks like pot metal, very deteriorated. I would guess it a $5 junk ring from the mall if I had found it at a park or the beach, but deep at this site makes me wonder.

Here is some horse tack from this iron patch on Friday at lunch along with a nice button and IHP.

The rest of the gang popped LC’s, V’s and relics plus we all dug a large pocket full of shell casings, slugs, shotgun ends and some musket balls. Fun times!

Last but not least... a utensil. (They sound sooo good)

Your seated dime is super nice, and that IH penny could not have come out of the ground in better shape.

Beautiful Seated Dime Thad. Congrats on your oldest US silver. Now go out and dig a Capped Bust. Thanks for the invite. Even though I didn't get there until 10:00AM and you guys had a three hour head start, I still managed to find a few things. Here is my take from the hunt. I put lemon juice in the stickpin and the gold really popped.

Thx Steve! A Capped Bust Dime is at the top of my list. That stickpin you found cleaned up nicely, very unique relic. Glad you were able to join the hunt!
