Filling holes is a fetish. Bob

Re: My partner died'

There might be someone out there, just maybe not in your immediate area. Also you might get some response in other forums of T-net.

Keep looking & sorry for your loss.

Re: My partner died'

Sorry to hear that. :( Good luck in finding another partner!

Re: My partner died'

Sometimes, you just gotta give it a little time. (more than one day).

Not everyone is on every forum every day.

Like others said - post in other areas - especially areas where you have posted before and people know you.

I'm sure there is somebody out there ------

Sorry about your partner.

Re: My partner died'

Hi Lonesomebob,
I'm very sorry for your loss.
A website that my help you find someone new is www.gometaldetecting.com
Lists metal detecting clubs state by state.
Michigan treasure hunters www.greatlakesmetaldetecting.com is the only club I'm aware of, but there are probably more in the state.
There are lots of people out there that would appreciate your knowledge and years of detecting skills.

Hi Bob,

I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

I wish we were closer....I'm in Va Beach. I doubt I'll be coming to Michigan anytime soon (last time I was there was 1980 and went to Traverse City), but if you are ever in Virginia Beach anytime in the future....you contact us...hubby and I would ENJOY detecting with you!

Hugs to you,
Annmarie

"Apparently no one gives a rat."

Demanding that another immediately volunteer to be your partner is like demanding that a person dance with you.

What do you have to offer? Have you found interesting places that you have permission to detect? Do you have equipment that would be a bonus to a prospective partner?

Have you researched areas and possible caches?

Thank you for a good thread as members think about what it takes to get a new MD buddy.

Sorry for the loss of your friend.

Re: My partner died'

Here is a link that shows all of the clubs that I know of in Michigan, the South West club and Michigan Treasure hunters are large clubs that my have members close to you.
I am in the Dirt club based in Midland/Saginaw area we do not have members in your area but if you are ever up this way contact us there is a good chance someone would go out and hunt with you. Cliff

Chirper, good morning; I have been at this since 1960 when I built my first detector,In 2000 I had a heart atack and later a set of by passes, I know the area well and have several come anytime places. I just need to find some other old soul that wants to get out and hunt. I am in good shape for 78 " its the new 60 you know" thanks for your kind words. Bob

Sorry to hear about your lost. I am not sure where your area is at as I am in OH. I am in the Northwest Corner on OH. If you are ever coming to Oh look me up and we can detect together....Matt

Re: My partner died'

Sorry to hear of your partner Bob,

I know what it is like to lose a hunting partner. I used to hunt a lot with my dad until he had a stroke in '05 and then he died in early '07 at the age of 71. He was the one that would prod me along to get out and go hunting. I am now trying to get back into the groove of hunting more often.

I do remember going with my dad, in the late 90's, to a once-a-year metal detecting club meeting of some kind that was just a bit east of where you are I think. They held their annual show-and-tell meeting at a church hall. It seems like they were between Ann Arbor and Detroit but I cannot remember for sure. I do know it was a pretty big club though. I will do some searching and see if I can locate their website. I will post with a followup if I find more info.

This Spring (if it ever arrives) would be more than happy to make a trip out your way. About 60 miles from you. Spent many years deer hunting in Grass Lake. I could do a Saturday or Sunday out your way. you can e mail me when the weather breaks and we can set up something up.
