My personal best for '08

Trade silver heart broach found about a week ago and definitely my best find for '08, so far.
Hallmarked by Robert Cruickshank. He was a silver smith employed to make silver ornaments for the fur trade. He worked as a silver smith out of Boston and Montreal from 1767 until 1809.

Very nice find. I like it when you're able to ID a relic from a picture like that with absolute certainty. :icon_sunny: I was able to do the same thing with a 1700's stirrup I found last year. It was pictured in a Revolutionary War artifact book.

Very cool indeed. That is why I love this site, I wouldn't of had a clue to what it was. Now I have a question are the circles on the top for something or are they just part of decoration?

Re: My personal best for '08

really fantastic! congrats.

Re: My personal best for '08

Circles punched out are just for decoration. Where the circles are punched out above the heart is supposed to represent a crown.
