Hello from FL.
I braved the heat (95 degrees with lots of humidity) for 45 minutes to do some quick dirt fishing in my yard. Since I’m cleaning up my own yard, I dig all signals.
Past sweeps have yielded lots of the usual items like aluminum cans, nails, and such. Also I’ve found a good amount of agricultural items, from draft horse tac, barbed wire, and tractor parts. I’ve also found a good amount of shotgun shell head stamps, some as early as 1906.
Having said that, here’s what I found and my thoughts about it. This hefty piece of iron rang in on my Garret as 2 inches deep. After digging 6 inches it came up. My first thought is this seems like a metal stake of some sort. I’ll be looking for more info. I’ve learned the Sears catalog archives tend to be a good start.
