One day I hope to get a better metal detector but as for now I have a cheapo Garret that was maybe 20 bucks a yard sale older model nothing really special. It's been sitting in the garage for a couple months, nobody's used it and my son is six years old. We had new neighbors moving a couple houses down in their son is nine years old. They were just outside playing catch with a football for the last 20 minutes when all of a sudden he came upstairs! Dude please let us use your metal detector go looking for Coins! I've always wanted to try to find something with one I thought they were the coolest things going ever had one can I try yours! So him and my son are outside with a shovel digging around see if they can find anything! it's pretty cool to see! I would be out there with them too but my daughter is sick with a fever so I have to be with her because she's 2! But we live on an old military base from World War II and they are building homes in our neighborhood so they're taking all the grass and trees out and putting houses. so everything is getting turned up and leaving the ground really easy to get to!

I think they did good. They found a huge screw. Almost looks like a spark plug. They ran around saying it was off a bomber airplane wing!!

Actually it's part of the locking Mechanism for a safe. I'm thinking. Maybe there is a treasure right next door :)

I agree, looks like a lock mech for something like a heavy file cabinet/gun cabinet/fire safe...something along that line maybe....or a airplane wing ;) The look on their faces digging it was probably priceless! Glad they tamed the electric sword and hope they keep it up!

I'm going to go out with them tonight and see if we can find anything rest of airplane wing maybe!

Found 3 empty coke cans and a can of r/c cola~ old pop tabs though which ment nothing to a 6 & 9 yr old. Lol. And a piece of steel strip. The neighbors get a laugh about us out there though... Alot of smart as*es. I would like to find a gold coin hoard!!! But the smart people don't advertise it!

The 9 yr old is over weight. Says his dad won't do anything with him. He just drinks and smokes pot. He came over today and said he is happy since he has been playing with my son he has lost 8 lbs! So I guess let the neighbors laugh and be jerks but I'm happy seeing a child pick up a shovel and a metal detector over a Xbox controller!

I want to get a nicer one and take them both out somewhere. We made a killing at the one playground near by. Someone needs to invest Time in the kids if no one else cares.

How true, great effort mate.
