My son received his first metal detector for his 4th birthday... The Matchbox Metal Detector Truck. We took it the a local park for fun and it wasnt 10 minutes in the sand he found his first quarter! We spent about 35 minutes there and he went on to find three quarters and a dime. I thought that truck was just a toy but its a real metal detector 7E7414CB-8D7F-478D-8842-E27EEB0740B8.webp so I am happy that he is on board with the hobby now.

That is so awesome! And he’s sooo cute! I’m sure you’re going to have fun hunting days together!

That's just too cool , a special memory to cherish forever.

Thanks! We will go again tomorrow and hopefully we will have the same luck. Im on the fence about getting a new detector. Have many to include Minelab Safari, Pioneer 505, Titan 3000xd, and an old Whites that worked ok. Minelab Equinox 800 is on the list but will wait to see what buggs it will have and I want more info about the internal lithium battery pack and performance before I drop $900

Maybe you can borrow your son's truck detector. It's working pretty well for him!!!

my little brother had one he found square nails

Hahahaha maybe

How fun. I'd a loved to have gotten a metal detector when I that age.

Yeah, I think of all the hammered coins I would have found when they were freshly minted.....

Looks like you have all the treasure in the world with that little boy. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! He is a great kid with a bright future ahead of him. I hope these memories we are making together last a lifetime.

I went shopping for a few of those last night. I'm going to have to buy them online. I'm glad you posted this. I never knew there was such a thing. Thanks.

I had no idea there was such a thing. That is really great, and you are making memories for life.

That might be a solution for those beaches where metal detecting is not allowed :)

Just sit with a little tyke on the beach "playing" with him or her.

What a nice time you two had together and wish you many more!
